I'm George Yameen, the creator of SquashWatch. I built this app because I love squash and wanted a better way to track my shots. Here's the straight talk on how your data is handled.
SquashWatch uses your Apple Watch sensors to detect your shots and keep your match score. Your detailed shot data stays on your device. Only a short game summary is sent, see Analytics below.
SquashWatch processes your shot tracking locally on your Apple Watch and iPhone. Your shot stats, match scores, performance metrics, and session history stay on your devices. The one exception is the short game summary sent to Google Analytics, described below. Workout data (heart rate, calories) is saved to Apple Health only with your permission, and stays in your Apple Health account.
We use Google Analytics (by Firebase) to see how the app is used, like which screens get opened and how many games get played. When you finish a game, the app sends a short summary with the score, game length, shot counts and top speed. It never sends your name, your email, your heart rate, your calories or anything from Apple Health. Google also sees basic device info (phone model, iOS version) and a rough, city level location from your IP address. None of this is linked to you or used for ads.
We also use Smartlook, which records how people move through the app's screens, so we can find the confusing parts.
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report so we can fix it.
SquashWatch is safe for users of all ages. We don't collect any personal information that identifies users.
